Congrats! You've taken the first step in taking control of your activity. Sales can pull us in a lot of directions and it is easy to get distracted from your primary goal, selling!
The calendar sample below shows how you can break your selling week into 5 defined chunks based on the days of the week:
Mondays:
In this example we are focused on building pipeline on Mondays. People are usually in the office or plugged in on Mondays as they catch up from the weekend so it's a great time to get caught up on your pipeline efforts.
Tuesdays we are focused on our "partners". This can mean something different for you, your resale channel, your influence partners or just people in your network who can help you close a deal.
Wednesdays we are spending our day focused on prospects. If you only have 1 account, use this time to prospect into new contacts and build new relationships.
Thursdays are all about our customers, nurturing them and ensuring consistent and updated alignment.
Fridays are for planning. Fail to plan, plan to fail. Follow-up, and establish a fast start to next week!
Weekends can be the most impactful time as a seller. Weekends are a time to rest, recharge, unplug and spend time with family and friends.
Customer intimacy and relationships are also built on weekends. If your customer loves fishing, take them fishing. This is what separates you from your competition all thing equal.
Hiking, Hunting, Fishing, Racing, Running, Cooking, Concerts, Charity, Events, Festivals.
Find out what your customers are into...and be into it.
